-KIVA is an organization that gives job opportunities to workers by lending money to entrepreneurs, thus giving them the power to lift themselves out of poverty. It was founded by Matt Flannery, who grew KIVA from a small project into an online service with partnerships across the globe and millions of dollars donated to low earning entrepreneurs. Money (at least $25) is loaned to the entrepreneur. Then, the donater is informed about the progression of the company. When the loan is repaid, it can be used to finance another company or withdrawn.
